Working at Mustermann
14 people, four vans, and a boss who still picks up a brush. We say openly what we pay. You can apply in two minutes from your phone.
Apply in two minutes, right from your phone
Writing a cover letter after work, digging out your CV, scanning everything in. That’s where most applications fall apart, and we miss out on good people.
So all we need is your name, your phone number and what it’s about.
- No cover letter, no CV needed
- Reply by the next working day at the latest
- Even if you just want to ask a question
These three positions are open
As of September 2026. If nothing fits, get in touch anyway.
Why we list the pay
Almost every job ad says “competitive pay”. That means you’re supposed to apply without knowing if it’s worth it. We think that’s unfair. So every position says what it pays. The range depends on your years in the trade and on how much you take on by yourself.

Apprenticeships with us
We’ve been training apprentices since 1978. Eleven of our current staff learned the trade here.
What you learn in three years
- Year 1: Surfaces, tools, your first areas of your own
- Year 2: Wallpapering, lacquering, scaffolding, measuring
- Year 3: Exterior walls, design, exam preparation
Vocational school in the county town runs in blocks, and we cover the travel costs. Exam prep counts as working time here, not as vacation.
And after that?
If you pass the exam and fit into the team, you get a permanent contract. Over the last ten years that was the case for nine out of eleven apprentices.
After that you can keep going if you want. Foreman after about five years, master craftsman school with our support, or specializing in exterior work. Still not sure? Come for a trial day.
Request a trial day ›What we offer
When the day’s done, it’s done
38.5 hours, finished at 13:00 on Fridays. Overtime is paid or taken as time off.
No overnight jobs away from home
All job sites are within 30 kilometers. You sleep at home.
30 days of vacation
Plus vacation and Christmas bonus. The business is closed between Christmas and New Year.
Pension and further training
150 euros a month toward your pension. We pay up to 50 percent of courses and master craftsman school.
And what’s not so great here
You’d notice it in your second week anyway. Better you know beforehand.
- We meet at 6:45. In January too, even when it’s dark.
- Exterior work in the fall means cold fingers and wind on the scaffolding.
- From May to September there’s overtime. We pay for it, but it’s there.
- We’re fussy about covering up and cleaning up. If that annoys you, you won’t be happy here.
Questions we hear a lot
I don’t have a CV on hand. Can I still apply?
Yes, that’s exactly what the short form is for. We’ll talk about everything else on the phone.
I’m switching careers and have no training. Do I stand a chance?
As a helper, yes, if you’re willing to get stuck in. Starting pay is 2,500 to 2,900 euros gross. You can do the apprenticeship later.
How secure is the job in winter?
We have plenty of indoor work. The last time we had short-time work was 2009.
Can I tag along for a day first?
Absolutely. The trial day is paid and you’re insured.
What if my current boss shouldn’t find out?
We’ll call you after 16:00 or on the weekend if you say so in the form.
Do you hire older people too?
Yes. Our oldest colleague is 61 and teaches every apprentice how to fill and smooth walls.
Two minutes. That’s all it takes.
If it’s not a fit, we’ll tell you honestly. Then you’ve lost two minutes instead of an evening.
