Twelve rooms above the Stube
Four single rooms, six double rooms, two family rooms. All with shower, toilet and Wi-Fi. There’s no elevator in the house. Instead there are thick walls, a spruce staircase and a breakfast that stays out until half past ten.

For one person
Four of these rooms face the quiet side, looking onto the courtyard with the chestnut trees. No room faces the street. If you’re traveling for work, you’ll find a proper desk, not a side table with a lamp on it.
The desk has two outlets and a reading lamp. The Wi-Fi is good enough for video calls. We tested it ourselves.
- 1.20 m bed, natural mattress
- Shower and toilet in the room
- Desk with chair
- Flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi
- Fresh towels from the second night
- Non-smoking, like all our rooms

For two
Six double rooms, three of them with a south-facing balcony. The bed is 1.80 meters wide, and if you like we’ll set up two separate single beds. Please mention it when you send your request, so it’s ready when you arrive.
Rooms 5 and 7 face the garden at the back and are the quietest in the house. If you’re a light sleeper, we’re happy to make a note.
- 1.80 m bed or two single beds
- Three rooms with a south balcony
- Shower, toilet, hair dryer
- Kettle, tea and glasses
- Wardrobe, safe in the house
- Extra bed for a child available

For two to four people
Two rooms, the parents’ bedroom and a second room with two beds, with a door in between. So the kids don’t sleep in the same room, and you can still turn the light on in the evening.
The balcony faces southwest. On a clear day you can see the Musterwand, hence the name. Strollers, backpacks and wet rain jackets fit in the entryway.
- Bedroom with 1.80 m bed
- Side room with two 0.90 m beds
- Large balcony with mountain views
- Bathtub and shower
- Travel cot and high chair free of charge
- Room for strollers and bikes
The reason most people come back
No buffet with cold cuts in plastic. We set the table and bring what you’d like.
What’s on the table
- Bread and rolls from the baker in the middle of the village
- Sausage and cheese from the valley
- Eggs the way you like them, boiled or fried
- Yogurt, muesli, seasonal fruit
- Jam from our own garden
- Coffee from the machine, loose-leaf tea
Times
If you need to leave earlier, let us know the evening before. Then there’s something ready from 6:30, and we’ll add a Brotzeit for the road.
Kids and special diets
Kids up to six have breakfast for free. Lactose-free milk, gluten-free bread and a vegan spread are there if we know about it ahead of time. One line in your request is enough.
What’s extra and what isn’t
So you don’t get a surprise when you check out, it’s all here.
Surcharges and discounts
The visitor’s tax goes to the municipality, not to us. In return you get the guest card with reduced entry prices and free bus travel in the region.
Arrival, departure, cancellation
For up to five rooms we don’t ask for a deposit or a credit card. If you arrive after 22:00, you’ll get a key box with a number code. You pay when you leave, cash or card.
Included in the price
- Breakfast for every guest in the room
- Wi-Fi throughout the house
- Parking by the house or in the courtyard
- Locked bike cellar with an e-bike outlet
- Towels, bed linen, final cleaning
- Travel cot and high chair
Good to know
The rooms are on the first floor and there’s no elevator. The staircase has 18 steps and a handrail. If you’re not steady on your feet, please tell us beforehand and we’ll carry your luggage.
The house dates from 1897. The floorboards creak, and the windows aren’t soundproofed like in a new build. But in the morning you hear the church bells, not the ventilation system.
What people often ask us about the rooms
When can I check in?
The room is ready from 15:00. If you’re here earlier, leave your luggage with us and head down to the lake. On the day you leave, we ask you to be out of the room by 10:30. Your luggage can stay with us after that.
Are dogs allowed in the rooms?
Yes, 12 euros per night, and you bring the food. We have a bowl and a blanket. In the Stube and the beer garden, dogs on a leash are welcome. At parties in the hall it’s not possible, out of consideration for the other guests.
Are there family discounts?
Kids up to six sleep and have breakfast in their parents’ room for free. From seven to 14 we charge 22 euros per night. From three nights on, there’s an extra 5 percent off the total price.
Can I book just one night?
Yes, we don’t have a minimum stay. Only for a single Saturday night do we add 10 euros, because the room then usually stays empty on Friday and Sunday.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
Not for up to five rooms. For larger groups and parties we ask for a 20 percent deposit once the date is set. Otherwise you only pay when you leave, cash, debit card or credit card.
Is the house accessible?
The Stube, the beer garden and one restroom are on ground level and step-free. The rooms aren’t. They’re on the first floor with no elevator. We’d rather say that clearly up front than have you standing at the stairs with your suitcase.
You’ll hear about free rooms the same day.
Send us your arrival and departure dates, how many people and which room you’d like. We’ll check the booking plan and reply, usually within a few hours. It only becomes binding once we confirm.
