We’re here.
Tuesday to Saturday in the shop, and usually on the phone too. Here you’ll find opening hours, the way to us and a form for anything that can wait.

Public holidays and vacation
We’re closed on public holidays. Before Christmas, Easter and Pentecost we’re open all day the day before, often until 16:00 on Saturday.
- Pre-orders for holidays: three days ahead
- Christmas geese and roasts: by December 15
- Company holiday: two weeks in August
- Dates are posted on the shop door and here on the site
On the phone
You’ll almost always reach us between 7:00 and 10:00 and from 14:00 on. From 11:00 to 13:00 half the village is in the shop, so the phone may ring without anyone picking up.
- Pre-orders: preferably in the morning
- Catering and parties: in the afternoon from 14:00
- On Saturday after 12:30 nobody answers anymore
- We check the answering machine on the next working day
How to find us
Musterstraße 1, right in the middle of the village. From the main road you’ll see the red sign above the door. The shop is at street level, no step.
From the highway
Leave the highway at the Musterdorf exit, then drive about twelve kilometers into the Mustertal. In the village, follow the signs to the center. Musterstraße turns off to the right from the main road. It takes about 15 minutes from the exit.
Right on the doorstep
There are four short-term parking spaces right in front of the shop, free and without a parking disc. If they’re taken, the parking lot at the town hall is 80 meters away. You’ll still find a spot there on Saturday morning.
Bus and train
The Ortsmitte bus stop is a two-minute walk away. The nearest train station is in the next village, and from there the bus runs into the Mustertal. Timetables are posted at the stop. Buses don’t run very often.
From the village
It’s less than five minutes from the village center. There are two bike racks right in front of the shop. Cyclists on their way into the valley can get a Brotzeit (Bavarian cold platter) without pre-ordering, as long as the counter is full.
Write instead of calling
For anything that isn’t urgent. Questions about our range, a date for a tour of the shop, a job application, or feedback we won’t like but that helps us.
- Reply on the next working day, usually sooner
- For orders, it’s better to use the order form
- For parties there’s the catering enquiry
- We read criticism in full and answer it ourselves

What we get asked most often
Can I pay by card
Yes, with a debit card (EC card) from one euro, no minimum amount. We don’t take credit cards, the fees are way out of proportion to our amounts. For catering you can also pay by bank transfer.
Do you train apprentices
Yes, every year we take on one apprentice in the butcher trade or in sales. Write to us using the form or just drop by. An internship beforehand is welcome.
Do you sell half animals
Yes, half pigs and quarters of beef, cut and vacuum packed according to your list. Allow a week’s notice and enough room in the freezer. Price on request, it depends on the daily price.
What about dogs
For hygiene reasons no animals are allowed in the shop, that’s what food law says. There’s a hook outside the door and a water bowl in summer. They still get a piece of sausage.
A phone call is usually faster.
If you want to know whether something is in stock or what it costs, pick up the phone. We’ll check the counter for you instead of writing back.
