What you need to bring
Most of the questions we get are about the prescription. So here’s everything you need to know before your first visit.

What goes in your bag
The prescription
The form from your doctor, in the original. A copy or a photo won’t do, because we have to send the original to your health insurer.
Important: You have to start treatment within 28 days of the date on the prescription. Otherwise it expires and the doctor has to write a new one.
Your health insurance card
We need to scan it once at your first appointment. After that we don’t, unless a new quarter starts or you switch insurers.
The statutory co-payment
If you’re on statutory health insurance and 18 or older, you pay a co-payment of 10 euros per prescription plus 10 percent of the treatment costs. For six sessions of physiotherapy that usually comes to somewhere between 25 and 35 euros.
We’ll tell you the exact amount at your first appointment. You can also pay it at the end of the whole series.
When you don’t pay a co-payment
The dates that come with your prescription
These are rules set by the health insurers, not something we made up. If a deadline is missed, the insurer can refuse to pay for the treatment. Nobody wants that, so we keep an eye on it together.
Private insurance, paying yourself, supplementary plans
Private insurance
You get an invoice from us based on the official fee schedule and submit it to your insurer. Please check with your insurer beforehand how many sessions they cover. That varies a lot from plan to plan.
Without a prescription
You can come to us without a prescription at any time. Then there are no deadlines and we have more freedom in how we treat you. What each treatment costs is in the price list on the Services page. Massage is always a service without a prescription anyway.
Supplementary plan
Many supplementary plans reimburse treatments in full or in part, even without a prescription. Keep the receipt and ask your insurer. We’ll give you all the paperwork you need for it.
Employers’ liability insurance
After an accident at work or on the way to work, everything goes through the employers’ liability insurance (Berufsgenossenschaft). You need a prescription from an accident insurance doctor (Durchgangsarzt). There’s no co-payment.
All about the prescription
My prescription is older than 28 days. What now?
Then you need a new one. Call your doctor’s office and explain. It’s a routine thing and usually done the same day.
Can I spread the treatment over several weeks?
Only with a break of up to fourteen days between two appointments. If you need longer, talk to us beforehand and we’ll sort it out with the doctor.
The doctor prescribed something different from what I expected.
We’re only allowed to treat what’s on the prescription. If at the first appointment we feel something else would fit better, we’ll contact the doctor. We can’t change it ourselves.
Can I get a home visit prescribed?
Yes, if the doctor writes it explicitly on the prescription. Without that note we’re not allowed to offer a home visit.
What if I forget an appointment?
Appointments not canceled at least 24 hours in advance are charged at 25 euros. It’s not a penalty. It’s the time that could have gone to someone else. Cancel early enough and it won’t cost you anything.
Will my health insurer cover an extension?
Usually yes, if the doctor thinks it’s necessary. We write the doctor a short report for that. We’ll handle it for you.
Got your prescription? Then get in touch.
On the phone we can tell you in two minutes when we can fit you in and what you need to bring.
