Furniture that exists
only once.
Custom kitchens, built-in wardrobes, staircases and front doors. Drawn, built and installed by our workshop in Musterdorf. Showroom open Fridays from 13:00 to 17:00.
Five areas, one business
Everything is made in our workshop. We don’t buy anything in and we don’t have anything made elsewhere. There are examples for every area, and kitchens even have their own page.
Custom kitchens
From measuring up to connecting the appliances. Solid fronts, worktops of your choice, fittings that still close quietly fifteen years from now. From about €18,000 without appliances.
Learn moreBuilt-in wardrobes and walk-in closets
Sloped ceilings, crooked walls, half a meter between the door and the corner. Right where no store-bought furniture fits is where our work begins. From about €2,400.
See examplesStaircases
Cantilevered folded oak staircases, but also cladding a cold concrete staircase in four days without you having to move out. From about €6,000.
See examplesFront doors and interior doors
Seals that actually seal, security hardware, and still the old look. We can even rebuild a door from a single photo of the original.
See examplesShopfitting and practices
Counters, shelving, reception desks, cold room walls. Built sturdy, because they get cleaned every day. We usually install on a weekend so you don’t have to close.
See examplesSingle pieces and repairs
A dining table, a bed, a farmhouse wardrobe from the attic. Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s worth the work. Sometimes we advise against it.

Every piece was made for one particular room. The pictures on this sample site are examples. Your site will show your own work.
HallwayCoat rack for an old building’s hallway
An oak coat rail and a bench that’s no deeper than the hallway allows. Oiled instead of lacquered, so scratches can simply be sanded out later.
Oiled oak · 2 weeks · finished 2025
BathroomAsh vanity
A frame like an old workbench, with a top 60 mm thick. Treated three times with hardwax oil for the bathroom. Splashes bead off, and there’s room underneath for towels.
Solid ash · 3 weeks · finished 2025
BedroomWardrobe wall around the bed
A room of just under fourteen square meters, and still three meters of storage. The wardrobes go right up to the ceiling, and above the headboard there’s an oak shelf with two reading lamps.

Which wood suits you?
The choice decides the look, the price, and how the piece will look in twenty years. Here are the four most important in brief. There’s more on the wood page.
Oak
Hard, heavy, tough. First choice wherever things get used every day. Turns a deeper golden brown over the years.
Walnut
Dark, with a grain you can’t mistake. Our most expensive wood, often twice the price of oak.
Ash
Almost as hard as oak, but lighter and livelier. Our best value pick for bright rooms.
Maple
A very pale, calm surface. It does react to sunlight, though, and visibly darkens over time.
From measuring up to installation
Five steps in short. For a kitchen, it takes about ten to fourteen weeks from start to finish.
Measuring
We come to you, measure the room and listen to what you have in mind.
Design
You get a drawing and a fixed price. Changes at this stage cost nothing.
Choosing the wood
You come to the workshop and pick your wood yourself, fittings included.
Making
Now we build. You’re welcome to drop by any time.
Installation
We deliver, install and take the packaging away. We do the final check together.

I’m Korbinian, and I work the machines myself.
My grandfather opened the workshop in 1954, with two journeymen and a band saw. My father took over, and I’ve been running it since 2016.
There’s one thing I can promise you. You talk to the person who draws and builds your furniture. And if a door sags after five years, we come and adjust it.
We’re hiring. Not just apprentices.
Hardly anyone goes into joinery anymore. We still take on an apprentice every year, even when work is tight. There’s also an empty bench in the workshop since one of our people retired in the spring. And we’re looking for someone for installation too.
Nobody here spends three years holding a broom. From your first year you work on real jobs, and from your second you come along to installations. If you’re already a qualified journeyman, you get your own jobs from day one.
- Journeyman joiner · full time, permanent, starting now
- Installer · full time, experience from another trade is fine
- Apprenticeship as a joiner · three years, starting in September
- Installation helper · by the day, works well alongside school or university
- Work experience · from age 15, even just for one week of the school holidays
Two permanent jobs, plus an apprenticeship and helper work
No cover letter needed. Just write to us at info@mustermann.de and tell us what you’ve trained in and when you could start. We’ll talk about the rest in the workshop.
All open positionsFrequently asked questions
The four we hear most often on the phone. You’ll find more on the individual pages.
What does a kitchen from a joiner cost?
A made-to-measure kitchen starts at around €18,000 without appliances, and most come in between €22,000 and €40,000. If your budget is lower, we’ll tell you right in the first conversation.
Do you come to my home to measure up?
Yes, and within 30 kilometers it’s free. We measure the room, look at the floor, walls and connections, and talk through first ideas on site.
How long until my furniture is ready?
A built-in wardrobe takes six to eight weeks from the order, a kitchen ten to fourteen. A lot of that is waiting for materials. We’re busiest in spring and before Christmas.
Isn’t that much more expensive than a kitchen from a furniture store?
Up front, yes, often by about half. In return you get solid wood instead of coated chipboard, dimensions that fit, and furniture you can repair instead of replace.
Tell us what you have in mind
You don’t need a finished plan. A few sentences, a phone photo of the room, a rough idea of your budget. We reply within two working days, and measuring up within 30 km is free.
