Every natural lash has its own life cycle of about six to eight weeks. You lose between one and five lashes a day. That’s normal and was just the same before your extensions. You only notice it now because the artificial lash goes with it.
After three weeks, around forty percent have been replaced for most people. Hence the rhythm of three to four weeks. If you wait longer, the infill costs more, because we’re practically doing a new set.
What makes them come off sooner
- Oil in cleansers and make-up removers, the most common reason
- Rubbing, pulling and sleeping face down
- Sauna, steam room and hot showers straight on the face
- Waterproof mascara that only comes off with oil
- Eyelash curlers, which break the glue
What helps? Clean them daily with a foam made for lash extensions and comb them through with the little brush afterwards. It sounds like more work than it is, and for most people it makes a difference of a week.
