Musterdorf sits in the valley, between the lake and the Alps around it. You can reach both in half an hour.

The trail up the local mountain starts at the edge of the village, fifteen minutes from our door. It takes three and a half hours to the top, where there’s a hut with a kitchen. If you want it easier, take the Musterplatte cable car · the valley station is a ten minute walk.
Hiking maps are at the bar. Sepp will also tell you which trail is open right now and where there’s still snow in June · you won’t find that on any map.
We’ll pack you a sandwich for the road if you tell us the evening before.
The riverside path starts behind our parking lot. Flat, shady, good after a meal. It’s eight kilometers to Musterfeld.
Valley station at the end of the village. Hikers in summer, seven runs and a toboggan run in winter.
Uphill through the woods. From the top you can see the whole valley down to the lake.
To the beach at Musterau. Sandy area, lawn for lying out, boat rental. In August leave early, or the parking lot will be full.
Boat trips to Musterinsel with its palace and to the monastery island with its monastery.
Along the B305 through the valley. A good rainy day trip, when nothing works out here.

The Musterplatte isn’t a big ski area, and we don’t pretend it is. Seven runs, one T-bar, one chairlift. For families and anyone who doesn’t want to stand in line, it’s plenty.
Bigger areas are in Musterwinkl and Musterberg, both half an hour away. Cross-country trails start in the village, and they’re groomed once there’s about twenty centimeters of snow.
Leave your skis in the cellar, the entrance is in the yard. If you like, we’ll drive you to the lift in the morning, as long as it fits in with our shopping run.
