When nobody picks up, the assistant does.
You’re up on a roof, in the kitchen or done for the day. The phone rings and nobody answers. That exact call was often a job. After a few rings the assistant picks up, says in its first sentence that it’s an assistant, and asks at least for a name and a callback number. Depending on your line of work it also takes down what the call is about. For doctors’ offices and pharmacies it deliberately doesn’t, more on that below. The notes go straight to you by text and email. You call back when it suits you.

On request
Name Josef Mustermann
Number 0176 3xxxxxxx
Reason Heating is dripping in the basement, asks if you can come tomorrow morning
Callback yes, ideally before 8 am
- Picks up when you don’t answer or the line is busy. Your own number stays your number
- Takes down the name, callback number and reason for the call
- Sends the notes right away by text and email
- Gives your opening hours, address and directions when someone asks
- Puts the call through to you if the caller wants a person
- It doesn’t pretend to be a person. The first sentence says that an assistant is speaking.
- Calls are not recorded, only written down. Recording without consent would be a crime under Section 201 of the German Criminal Code (§ 201 StGB). Written call notes aren’t.
- It doesn’t negotiate, doesn’t quote prices and doesn’t confirm appointments.
- It doesn’t understand everyone. With a strong dialect the technology hits its limits.
- It doesn’t rate any call as urgent or important. You decide whether something’s in a hurry when you read it.
- It doesn’t book appointments, says nothing about illnesses, symptoms or health data, and doesn’t pass any of that on.
The callback note is the basic setup for every kind of business. The assistant takes down the name and callback number, reads the number back once to check it and sends both to you by text and email. On purpose, nothing more.
The full assistant also takes down what the call is about, so you already know what it’s about before you call back. That works for trades, restaurants and retail. Anywhere professional confidentiality doesn’t come into play on the phone.
Doctor’s offices, dental practices and pharmacies get their own version. There the assistant only takes down the name and callback number and turns down everything else. There’s a reason for that. As soon as a caller starts talking about symptoms, stricter rules apply. We’ll go over with you beforehand what that requires.
Speech recognition is trained on standard German. At Interspeech 2025, the best system tested had a word error rate of 31 percent on Bavarian dialects, compared with 9 percent on standard German. In practice that means the name and phone number usually come through clean, because the assistant asks for them specifically and double-checks. A quickly mumbled reason for the call sometimes doesn’t.
That’s why every note puts the phone number first. Even if the rest comes out wrong, you can call back. And any caller can say at any time that they want a person. Then the call gets put through. So there’s no promise that every caller will be understood.
Recording a phone call without consent is a crime in Germany under § 201 StGB. So we don’t make any audio recording. The assistant writes down what was said, and the text note goes to you. What the provider processes on the technical side for speech recognition is set out in the data processing agreement.
In the very first sentence the caller hears that an assistant is speaking. That’s required under Article 50 of the EU AI Act since Aug 2, 2026. We’re not a law firm, and legal advice isn’t part of what we offer. Everything is set up so a lawyer can check it easily.
Here’s how a call goes when it picks up.
Three calls of the kind an inn gets every evening. Tap Play and the conversation runs line by line. The caller is on the left, the assistant on the right. At the end you see the notes the innkeeper receives.
A reenacted conversation using a sample business’s data. Not a recording. Gasthof Mustermann doesn’t exist, the callback number is a dummy number on purpose, and nothing anyone actually said is being played. This is how the assistant would work for you, with your hours and your address. We settle the exact wording together at our meeting.
Set up once, then monthly.
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| SetupWriting the greeting, setting up call forwarding, test calls. You don’t install anything | €249 one time |
| Running itPhone line, delivering the notes, keeping the greeting up to date. The price depends on call volume | €99 to €200 a month |
The monthly price depends on how many calls come in. A quiet business like a carpenter’s shop tends to land around €99 to €120, an inn, a hotel or a hair salon more like €200. That’s why we ask beforehand roughly how many calls you get a day. We work out what that would mean for you ahead of time and put it in the quote. Cancel any month. No VAT charged, small business under German law (§ 19 UStG).
What a person costs, what the machine costs
One slider and you get the answer right away. It uses published list prices and 22 working days a month. Nothing is stored or sent. Your own device does the math.
This is an estimate, not an offer, and it’s deliberately rounded in your favor. You’ll get the fixed price in writing once we’ve talked about your call numbers.
A person understands dialect, picks up on tone and can sell. If you get thirty calls a day that are about money, hire a person. The calculator above only tells you what it costs, not what it can do.
The assistant pays off for the calls nobody answers at all otherwise. In the evening, on your day off, while you’re out on a job site. How many of those you get often only shows once you count them. Both are published list prices, so you can look them up.
- Tradespeople who are out on job sites all day and don’t want to work through their voicemail at night
- Businesses without an office, where nobody sits by the phone
- Restaurants on their day off and outside opening hours
- Anyone whose callers hang up instead of leaving a voicemail
- Setup over the phone with screen sharing, nothing to install, in just under an hour and from anywhere
- If you’d like, we can also come by, within 100 km of Marquartstein
- Call forwarding is set up with your phone provider, and your number stays the same
- We make test calls together, including some that are tricky on purpose
- You listen to the finished greeting before it goes live
- No booking or canceling appointments
- No judgment on whether a call is urgent
- No connection to your industry software
- No recording of the call
- No guaranteed availability
- If it goes down, your phone just rings normally again like before
Doesn’t need a website
All the assistant needs is your phone number. But if the same questions keep coming in through your site rather than by phone, the chatbot is the better tool. It catches them before anyone even picks up the phone.
Chatbot on your website →The critical ones too.
What if the assistant doesn’t understand the caller
Will I know if someone hung up
Do I have to change my phone number
Can I cancel it
How long does setup take
When do I have to pay
How do I know beforehand that it works
One call. Ten minutes is enough.
Tell us how many calls go unanswered at your place and at what times. If it doesn’t add up, we’ll tell you before you spend anything.
