Wood-paneled, warm, a bit tight when everyone’s here. That’s exactly how it should be.
The paneling is the original one Mustermann’s grandfather had put in. Spruce, gone dark over seventy years. In 2019 we sanded it down and oiled it again, nothing more. We don’t rip things out here.
The green tiled stove has stood in the same spot since day one. It’s lit from November to March. In winter it’s usually the same two people sitting on the stove bench.
The main room with the paneling and the tiled stove. Eight tables for six, two for four, plus the stove bench. This is also where the lunch menu is served.
Can be closed off with a sliding door. For parties, club evenings, and in the morning for our overnight guests’ breakfast.
Behind the house, under two old chestnut trees. From May to September, when the weather plays along. No need to queue at a window, we come out to you.
The round table to the right of the stove. There’s no sign, but everyone in the village knows. If you sit down with them, nobody sends you away.
Helles and wheat beer from a brewery in our district, plus Radler, and a dark festival beer in winter. The tap dates from 1978 and gets taken apart every evening.
Sepp is usually behind it himself. When he’s not around, Rosi is, and then their daughter does the cooking.
During the week you’ll almost always find a seat. On Friday and Saturday evenings and at Sunday lunch the Stube is usually full, so it’s best to call ahead.
We write down your name, the time, how many of you there are and a phone number in case we need to check something. That’s it, and it gets crossed out after the day.
